Venezah St. Louis

Venezah St. Louis, LCSW is a biracial (Black/Latina) Chicago south side resident. Originally from the South, Venezah grew up in a Caribbean-American household (Trinidadian, Dominican) with many siblings and cousins. Growing up, Venezah witnessed loved ones struggle with mental health challenges and noticed the significant impact that played in her family and community, across multiple generations. As a result of her upbringing and personal experiences, Venezah is a huge proponent of mental wellness for youth and families and strongly believes that access to quality mental healthcare is a human right. Venezah is also passionate about decreasing stigma around and increasing access to mental healthcare, especially for BIPOC individuals and communities.

Venezah is a licensed clinical social worker with over five years of experience providing therapy for children, adolescents, young adults (ages 18-26), and families through a relational, strengths- based, and trauma-informed approach. She has experience working with trauma, stress, depression/anxiety, foster care/adoption, spirituality/faith, and behavior challenges at home and school. Venezah has provided therapy in multiple settings such as Chicago Public Schools, Noble Charter Schools, community centers, and telehealth giving her diverse experience in working with youth and families from various backgrounds and cultures. Interactive play, games, music, creative writing, and art-based interventions are just some of the many therapeutic tools that Venezah utilizes to support clients in processing their thoughts, emotions, and trauma. Venezah greatly values each clients right to self-determination and agency, and is a strong advocate of meeting clients where they are in their journey towards healing.

Venezah obtained her Masters Degree in Social Service Administration with a focus on trauma responsive social work from the University of Chicago in 2020.
